About
According to the venue’s history page, The Listening Room Cafe was founded in 2006 in Franklin, Tennessee, by singer-songwriter Chris Blair, who started the venue because he could not find a local space with the sound and atmosphere he felt Nashville artists deserved. The Franklin location drew comparisons to the Bluebird Cafe and gained an early following.
The venue then moved through several Nashville locations: the historic Cummins Station from 2008 to 2013, a 2nd Avenue location from 2013 to 2017, and its current home in the former International Harvester Tractor building at 618 4th Avenue South beginning in 2017. The site describes the current room as having become one of the best-sounding rooms in Nashville, with a main room capacity of 255 seated or 450 standing guests, and notes that it has been voted a top singer-songwriter venue in Nashville.
