Music City Sewing is a sewing and garment production studio located in Nashville, Tennessee, about one mile from downtown Nashville. The business describes itself as a “sewing concierge” that helps designers, brands, and entrepreneurs turn garment and soft product ideas into market-ready goods. Its work spans small batch manufacturing, cut-and-sew production, custom garments, finishing services such as tag and patch application, and education through lessons and a fashion design incubator program.
Services
Music City Sewing offers small batch manufacturing and cut-and-sew services, taking garment and soft product concepts and producing finished items ready for market. The studio works with designers and problem-solvers who need production support at a smaller, more flexible scale.
The business also provides hem tag and patch application, a finishing service in which tags and patches are sewn onto products. The studio reports handling large volumes of this work, with capacity in the hundreds of thousands of units per year, and clients typically begin by submitting tech packs. A rate card is available for pricing reference.
Custom pieces are another core offering, with turnaround times described as little as two weeks for original, wearable, and durable garments. The studio has produced costume work for professional performers, with examples ranging from farmer’s market apparel to costumes for international touring acts. Additional in-house capabilities include pattern making, grading and digitization, wholesale fabric consulting, fashion design consulting, and seamstress services. The studio also runs a Fashion Design Incubator program and offers sewing lessons and business education for those building their own product lines.
About
Music City Sewing was founded by Krystal Douglas. She developed her sewing skills in childhood on a farm, learning from great aunts who made clothing and quilts, and she credits her grandmother, a country and gospel artist, for shaping her appreciation of live performance and polished production.
Krystal earned a Music Business degree from MTSU while running an Etsy quilting store starting in 2008, which she describes as her first paid sewing work. She then spent about four years in music publicity and concert production logistics, coordinating events for touring acts and venues in Nashville. In 2015 she stepped away from office work while remaining connected to live music and production, and in August 2017 she established her first commercial studio on Music Row. Her background in costume rigging, textiles, lighting compatibility, and stage production positioned her well for entertainment costuming and soft goods work. The business operates with a scalable team model, contracting experienced local stitchers to meet client needs.
