About
The original Halls Chophouse was opened in Charleston, South Carolina by Bill Hall and his wife Jeanne, after decades operating hospitality properties in locations such as Pinehurst, Hilton Head Island, Sea Island, Napa Valley, and Pebble Beach. The restaurant states that while it offered “the finest steaks money could buy, an extensive wine list, hearty family-style sides,” it was “the service and warmth of the staff that set them apart.” The family motto, “Service before self,” is inscribed in memory of Mr. Bill Hall (1946-2020).
Before opening their first restaurant, the Hall family operated hospitality properties in premium destinations across the United States. The website notes that the family’s roots in the Lowcountry grew after their daughter Stacey relocated to Charleston, which prompted the family to establish itself there. Halls Chophouse now operates five locations, including sister properties in Greenville, Columbia, and Nexton (Summerville), in addition to the original Charleston location and the Nashville restaurant. Hall Management Group also owns Slightly North of Broad, High Cotton, Rita’s Seaside Grille, and Halls Signature Events.
The Nashville location continues the group’s emphasis on full-service hospitality, pairing its steak and seafood menu with an extensive wine list and table-side attention from staff. The restaurant presents itself as a destination for both everyday dining and special occasions, with private dining space available for groups and events.
