Cooper Creek Farm is a small-scale farm based in Nashville, Tennessee that grows and sells locally produced vegetables and other produce. The farm operates primarily through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model, providing what it describes as “responsibly grown produce for you and your household every single week of the harvest season.” Cooper Creek Farm notes that it is “a certified River Friendly Farm” and emphasizes that locally grown produce retains more nutrients than store-bought alternatives. The farm is committed, in its own words, “to advancing a sustainable, cooperative model of agriculture on a community scale.”
Products
The farm’s primary offering is fresh, locally grown produce distributed through its CSA program, supplemented by plant sales. In the CSA model, members purchase a “share” of the harvest before the season begins, and “each week of the season, you’ll pick up your share of fresh produce from your selected pickup location.” Members receive “8+ items each week, with an average total value of at least $30,” and the farm notes that “by purchasing through the CSA you save 10%.” Members can “swap out up to 2 items per week for other items in the ‘swap’ section or on the market table.” Pickup is described as “market style,” with items laid out in display bins for members to load into their own containers. The farm offers Spring and Fall CSA programs, with multiple share options tied to different pickup locations.
About
Cooper Creek Farm is led by Alex and Nurisa Phillips as a worker-owned cooperative formed in Fall 2025. Alex Bice established the farm in 2022 from “the backyard of the house he was renting in Inglewood, along Cooper Creek.” Neighbors Pam and Deanie later allowed the operation to expand into their yard. Nurisa, formerly a farm manager at Sugar Camp Farm in Ashland City, joined Alex, and the two eventually merged their operations. The farm expanded to two acres at The Bend near Opryland in 2024, then incorporated portions of Sugar Camp Farm and acreage in Joelton by 2026. The farm prioritizes “connection with our neighbors (of all species), cycles of nature, and quality of life” while demonstrating “the viability of small-scale farming.”
